There’s a new dining place in town that you need to check out and that restaurant is Radha’s @ the Square! This restaurant is located at the former Jesselton Butcher. Radha’s @ the Square is a fusion restaurant and bar that serves both Indian and Western cuisine. The restaurant serves no pork but for those alcohol lovers (my people!), you won’t be disappointed!
The flavourful Thali
The Indian cuisine that I was referring to was the very much loved Indian dish ‘the banana leaf rice’ or ‘Thali’ in Hindi. The ‘Thali’ set is such a vibrant dish where rice is served on a banana leaf with the refillable 4 to 5 types of vegetables side dishes, curry and gravy, chutney (pickles)! The Thali set also comes together with complimentary dessert, Kesari and Teh Tarik (pulled milk tea). All that for only RM10.90! This dish screams ‘HEALTHY! So for those who are super cautious about what to eat, this dish is for you! You can also add side dishes like beef, chicken and fish for your protein. The Thali set is available during lunch time from 11.00am to 3.00pm.
There are more…
The variety in their menu caters to all tastebuds! Not really into Indian cuisine, opt for their Western choices instead! Radha’s @ the Square has pastas, pizzas, steak, burgers on their menu! I have the opportunity to try out all (I know, lucky me) and everything taste BUONISSIMO!
For appertizers, we had the Beer ‘Thor’ Mussels and Buffalo Wings. I love the creaminess of the Beer ‘Thor’ Mussels and I love everything about the Buffalo Wings cos I love chicken wings.
We had 2 of their specialty pizzas, Under The Sea Seafood Pizza and and Hawaiian Chicken Pizza. Both of the toppings are delicious but I love the pizza crust as they’re making their own pizza dough from scratch fresh every day! How cool is a restaurant that make their own pizza dough!
Here comes my favourite dish of the night, the Aquaman Aglio-Olio Spaghetti with Tiger Prawn. Yes, I love my pasta, I love carbs. What can I say! The tiger prawn is humongous! But what I love about this dish is the seasoning in the pasta is just perfectly balance. The manager told us that we can request the level heat and spiciness for the dish. If you’re the kind of person that can take the heat then the chef can definitely add more chili flakes.

Aquaman Aglio-Olio Spaghetti with Tiger Prawn, my fave!
Hawaiian Chicken Pizza, the dough is freshly made everyday!
To you meat lovers!
There are 3 dishes that you really need to try! Their meats are imported from New Zealand, so rest assured that their meats are top quality! If you like lamb, then the Black Panther Guinness Lamb is definitely for you. The sweetness of the Guinness pairs perfectly with the lamb. I love steak and it’s good that I have the opportunity to try their Iron Man Jack Daniels Steak. My preference of a yummy steak is the steak to be prepared medium or medium well and the chef prepared it just the way I like it, medium! Kudos to the chef for not ‘murdering’ that precious cut of meat! The steak was served together with black pepper, fries and salad.
The star of the night was definitely The Hulk Angry Burger! This gigantic burger has 3 types of protein rather than just 1, which are beef patty that they ground on their own; juicy boneless Chicken thigh and fried Red Snapper filet. It has an egg too in the burger together with 2 sides of salad and fries. This dish can be shared for 2 person as the portion is HUGE!

Last but not least, the drinks!
I love me some Happy Hours and we were given the chance to try out 1 of their signature cocktail, the ‘Huminodun’, their mocktail, Jojo Minty-Greeny and 2 shooters! I love having shots cos they are fun drinks to have if you want to have a good time and with the drinks, I did have a great time! The bartender was such a fun guy and he made us his 2 naughty shooters called ‘Blowjob’ and ‘Orgasm’! He even created a new shooter that he gave us the privilege to name the shooter! Michelle, Fay and I decided to name it Foreplay cos we thought we need to link with the 2 drinks that we previously had and enjoyed.
Go and try the shooter that we have named, it’s yummy and naughty!
All in all, I honestly had a good time dining at the Radha’s @ the Square! The ambience was really nice too, the Floor Manager was really passionate in explaining all the dishes and we had a good, friendly chit-chat. It’s really hard to find a restaurant in Kota Kinabalu that serves good food and at the same time, provide good customer experience. But at Radha’s at the Square, you WILL definitely get both!
